Le Masque (LTAF #44)
This hinge-free box with collage can be displayed multi-functionally. The lid was constructed using old tobacco sticks on one side with the flip side gold velvet, all from Mid 19th Century. The artwork can free stand on the chosen side of the lid, as well as hang on the wall. You can place the artwork on the table or shelf as a box and when guests come over you can open the lid, viewing the head with mask. The collage is protected by a sheet of museum glass, the best there is with no reflection and UV protected.
The materials were carefully selected over the past year and constructed over the last six months. This is artwork #44 in the ongoing series Letters to a Friend. (letterstoafriend.com)
